Just to wish everyone of you a Happy, Happy, Birthday Jesus celebration.
It's all about Him.

We will be going to Dallas texas this weekend to be with family, and to celebrate Christmas Saturday. I like to words to that song,

O' Holy Night
O holy night,the stars are brightly shining;
It is the night ofour dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees,O hear the angel voices!
O night divine,O night when Christ was born!
O night divine, O night,O night divine!
The real reason for Christmas...."The promise of the Savior of the world was Born!!!
We had a great last Sunday celebration at Waskom Community Church, including seeing a Christmas program from the Childrens' department at Family Worship Center, Baton Rouge. It was awesome!!!
Beginning in February on Tuesday, I will be teaching a 8 week series on the "EndTimes" teaching will be on The Rapture, 2nd Coming of Christ, Gog and Magog, Tribulation, Millenium, 2-Judgements, Antichrist reign, endtime deception.

Merry Christmas!!!!
Let me pass this thought to you in regard to the real meaning of Christmas from Luke 2:25-30:

Luk 2:25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

1. Simeon was a just and devout man (he was an upright man, fearing God and waiting for the comfort of Israel)
2. Waiting for the consolation of Israel. The promised Messiah.
3. The Holy Ghost was upon him.( To give him supernatural knowledge. It was revealed to him that he should see Christ.)

So what was Simeon so earnestly waiting for? What was it that was dictating the course of his life? He was waiting, we are told, for the "Consolation of Israel". The "Consolation of Israel" would be the answer to many prayers. The Consolation would bring comfort and solace. This was, in essence, the function and consequence of the Lord's life on earth. We read more about this promise of comfort and hope in the Gospel of John:
If you love Me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him or knows Him; but you know Him for He dwells with you and will be with you (John 14: 15-17).

4. Just as he was looking and expecting Jesus to come at anytime, so much we, His Church, be looking and longing for His soon return.

Camp Meeting

What a week it was...If you have never been to a Jimmy Swaggart Camp meeting, you need to go, It's not just the services that will inspire you, but also the teaching by the college professors. It reminded me of my Bible college days..., and the opportunities to meet others in Christ from around the world. Ruby and I met people from all over the states and Canada, there were also people from Australa, Africa, UK,too many to name, but most of all, from Heaven itself!!! God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit!!!! We had church!!! I believe the JSM singers are the best you will ever hear.
We stayed at the Hyatt Place Hotel, beautiful room. it was more like a studio, loved it, across from the Mall, and 1/2 mile to the church. There was no day classes on Thrusday, so we were able to go spend Thanksgiving with Tim and Becky in New Orleans, had an enjoyable good time. I love my kids and families!!!
One of the exciting news coming from Baton Rouge was the fact that beginning in Januaury, their broadcast will be going to All Mexico, All Central America, and ALL of South America. They are already broadcasting in the Mideastern countries including Iran, iraq, Egypt, Lybia, Lebandon, Syria, UA, Jordan, Ethopia, Turkey and India, and others, I couldn't write fast enough.
We came home Saturday night, and had great services at our church on Sunday, it was an honor to see our son and daughter-in-law, Vanessa and grandkids. Vannessa is back in the hospital today to begin her "last" chemo" treatment, so keep the prayers for her going.
Oh, less I forget, Ruby has a birthday this Saturday (December 6). her ages will be.................sorry, can't tell....!!! Yead, I can, 59!! But she looks like 35..... Love that girl!!!!!, the love of my life.
See ya next time..... Brother Mike

I hope you are ready for Thanksgiving. I am!!! Ruby and I will be going to Camp Meeting" at Jimmy Swaggart's Thankgiving Camp Meeting. It has become an anual event for us. We love it. If you have never been to one, you should go.

Let me share with you the Thanksgiving story, and hopeful you will share it with others as you gather and fellowship with family and freinds:

The Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock on December 11, 1620. Their first winter was devastating and by the fall they had lost 46 of the original 102 people who sailed on the Mayflower. However, the harvest of 1621 was a bountiful one and the remaining colonists decided to celebrate with a feast, so they invited the Native American Indians who had helped them survive their first year. The feast lasted three days and included wild ducks, geese, venison, fish, boiled pumpkin, berries and dried fruits. It is not certain that wild turkey was a part of their feast since the pilgrims used the word “turkey” to mean any sort of wild fowl.
However, this first Thanksgiving feast was not repeated the following year. In fact, it wasn’t until June of 1676 that the governing council of Charlestown, Massachusetts proclaimed another Day of Thanksgiving to express thanks for the good fortune that had seen their community securely established. However, much like the original Thanksgiving in 1620, this day was also not repeated the following year. Instead, October 1777 marked the first time that all 13 colonies joined in a Thanksgiving celebration and yet again, this was a one-time affair.
In fact, until 1863 Thanksgiving Day had not been celebrated annually since the first feast in 1621. It was Sarah Josepha Hale, a magazine editor, whose efforts eventually led to what we recognize today as Thanksgiving. She encouraged President Abraham Lincoln to establish the last Thursday in November as a day for national thanksgiving and prayer, hence, Thanksgiving Day.
Today, Thanksgiving in America has become a tradition of spending time with families, watching football and parades filled with floats and marching bands, feasting on turkey and other home-cooked food, and giving thanks for everything received in the past year. And watching the Dallas Cowboys!!!Thanksgiving day should be a everyday event. Every day, I have something to be thankful for. Every day I have to stop and thank God for what He is doing in my life. I have no problem finding things to be thankful for.

I will be sharing this with the with the city of Waskom Texas at our annual Thanksgiving service, this coming Sunday night (Nov. 23). If you live close by, come on up and join us....

We have now moved to our new location in Waskom Texas on Spur 156, #415. We held our first service this past Sunday (November 2), with 22 in attendance. three gave their hearts to the Lord in that service. Real move of God! here is a few photos to share with you:
It was a blessing to see everyone come and help clean and get the facility ready for the first service. They were all excited as much as I was. We had a breakfast before the service. Even after church many just "hung around", no one was in a hurry. My sermon that morning was, "The Church Jesus Built." Sunday night I preached on "Hearing from God". Recording is made of each service for those requesting copies. See Stephanie and let her know.

Update 7/22/2008

We just returned from Baton Rouge this last Sunday from picking up our 2 youth from Camp meeting. This was our first time to send anyone and so soon, since we just started the church in January 2008. We are excited! Stepanie Loveless, our Youth Leader is doing a fine job in ministry to our youth.

For the rest of us, we watch the Youth meetings via Internet each and evry night. Gabe, Donnie, Mike Mullen (from Louisville) and others were speaking.

The church has grown and continuing to grow since January. We are running anywhere from 15 to 22 on a given Sunday. We are in dire need of a bigger worship area. This is where you can join in and pray for God to open up a building for us to move to.

Continue praying for our Daughter-in-law Vanessa Mullins as she continues to undergo Chemo treatments. God is really healing her, I believe that!!! Also keep Robert, Emilee and natalie in prayer during this time also, and for Ruby, I don't know how she does it, but she just keeps going and going!!!!

Time, Michael and families are al doing well. Tim's

And for those who would never believe it, we got a (d-word) d-o-g, name Angel, cute, but loves to hunt moles and squirrels and anything that moves....

Planted a garden this year late. It's half dead, half alive...figure that out... :)

Love you all!!!!

It's Spring time

Acourse, this is Waskom Texas, where the winters (if we have any) are short lived. I started cutting my yard in February and I can see it's going to be a long mowing season. We had to make a quick trip to Mississippi this last weekend, Ruby's best friend, (since grade school), father passed away and we went to the funeral. The meal after the funeral was at the church we were married 40 ears ago. I carry in my pocket a minature marriage license that is a replicate of the real one, It was given to me and Ruby at our wedding. Yes, 40 years later, I still carry it around in my billfold. Anyway, one of the withnesses that signed it was at the funeral, I show it to her, and she just couldn't believe I still had it. Also on the wall of the church was a picture on the old church we were married in May 25, 1968. That is the picture you see at the top of this blog.
